Macros of Spring Blooms in my Garden

I had a few challenges this week in trying to take macros when it was windy, but I'm glad I persevered, as some turned out quite well.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, so I decided to take advantage of the sunlight. 

I experimented with various settings and am pleased with the result of these 

beautiful bright orange Pigface / Ice Plants.

Spring Blooms

Yesterday I received my personalized "Special Recognition Award" from Light, Space & Time Online Gallery for "Tomaree Head Summit Walk".

Today I took the opportunity to go for an early morning walk while there was a fair amount of sunshine to capture some of the beautiful Spring blooms in our area. I was lucky enough to get a few reasonable pics despite the sun going in and out of the clouds.

On my return home I happened to see a flowering Wattle tree that had some of the brightest yellow flowers that I've seen.

Launch of Marilyn Harris Photography Website

Hi, and welcome to my blog!

This is a very first for me, as I am new to blogging.

I have recently set up a Photography website - Marilyn Harris Photography, a place where I can share some of the many photographs that I have taken over the years. It has been a wonderful learning curve for me and will always be "work in progress".

Since retiring, photography has opened up a whole new world for me. I enjoy experimenting with macro photography and especially love capturing abstracts from nature.

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled throughout Australia, Europe and Egypt.

Another first for me, was entering one of my photos into Light, Space & Time's Online Gallery "Seascapes" competition - September 2014. What a wonderful surprise it was to receive notification that my "Tomaree Head Summit Walk" had received a "Special Recognition" Award.

Now that Spring is here, I look forward to getting out and about capturing some of the many beautiful Spring Blooms.
